The National PNH Service
The National PNH Service is a world-renowned UK-based service, with expertise in managing patients with paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinurea (PNH). The Service provides education to further the knowledge of diagnosis and management of PNH, with the aim to improve patient care worldwide.1
The National PNH Service consists of two centres in England: the centre based at King’s College Hospital, London, manages patients in London and the Home Counties, and the centre at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds, manages patients from the rest of the United Kingdom.2

Referrals to the PNH Service
All patients who have PNH cells detected in their blood should be referred to the PNH Service. Patients seen within the Service are managed as part of a shared care arrangement between the PNH Service and their local haematologists, who will jointly decide a treatment plan.3
If you are a medical professional and you would like to refer someone to the National PNH Service, please contact one of the two designated National PNH Service Centres listed below depending on your geographical location.
Patients referred to the National PNH Service will have the choice of being seen either at the next most appropriate Outreach Clinic or at the appropriate National PNH Service Centre (St James’s Hospital, Leeds or King’s College Hospital, London) depending on where they live and the urgency required.
The two National PNH Service centres work very closely together to ensure a consistent approach to patient management throughout the UK and equal access to therapy.
